La Playa Agency Shifts Focus to Land Conservation and Design Build Consulting
La Playa Agency, founded in November 2023 by Brittani and Will Berry, has announced a significant shift in its business focus. Initially launched as a birth tourism company in Ecuador, the agency is now pivoting to prioritize land conservation and design build consulting for eco-conscious projects across the Americas.
The Berrys' decision to change direction stems from several factors:
1. Risks associated with international birth tourism
2. Discovery of their indigenous American Indian heritage
3. Enrollment in Arizona State University Law School for Master's in Legal Studies and Tribal Self-Governance
While birthing services will no longer be the company's central focus, La Playa Agency remains committed to advocating for Black and Indigenous women's health. The company plans to develop birthing centers in North America as part of its design build initiatives.
La Playa Agency's new primary objectives include:
- Land conservation projects
- Design build consulting for eco-conscious developments
- Expanding services to North, Central, and South America, with potential projects in Europe and Canada
The Berrys aim to utilize their legal education and tribal connections to better serve their communities and promote sustainable development practices.

COUPLE LAUNCHES BIRTH TOURISM COMPANY AFTER GIVING BIRTH ABROAD
Manta, Ecuador - November, 2023
La Playa Agency, a new birth tourism company, has been launched by a couple who recently gave birth overseas. Following a personal tragedy and a desire to provide better options for families, Brittani and Will Berry established the company with the aim of offering a safe and supportive environment for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) pregnant women. The company provides comprehensive services including real estate rentals and buying, and in-home concierge services to ensure a positive and empowering birth experience.
Motivated by their own heartbreaking experience, Brittani and Will Berry decided to launch La Playa Agency after the loss of one of their twin daughters due to a medical error in the United States. Determined to create a better future for families like theirs, they chose Manta, Ecuador as the destination for their birth tourism company due to its birthright citizenship and proximity to the United States. Their goal is to provide expectant BIPOC families with quality prenatal care and a supportive community during their pregnancy journey.

We found out that we were expecting twins and we made the mistake of returning to the United States instead of continuing on as expats.
